Light aromatic notes of aniseed and fennel lead the palate, offering a fresh and inviting introduction. These are followed by a harmonious bouquet of botanicals—grand wormwood contributes a gentle bitterness, balanced by the floral character of elderflower and meadowsweet, with a cooling lift from peppermint. The texture is smooth and silky, delivering a well-rounded mouthfeel. A long, clean finish allows the complex layers of flavour to linger, showcasing the spirit’s clarity and precision.

Absinthe is a botanical spirit distilled with grand wormwood, green anise and fennel seed, also known as the holy trinity of absinthe. In addition to these three, each distiller can use their own blend of botanicals to achieve the unique flavour profile they are after.

Traditional absinthe is a spirit, not a liqueur. No sugar should be added when bottled.

All distilled absinthes start clear. In order to create a traditional green style of absinthe, this distillate is then infused with a new mix of botanicals to get its natural colour from chlorophyll.

Pair with Tonic Water or Pink Grapefruit Soda for a refreshing alternative to a G&T.

Absinthe was banned for nearly a century in many countries around the world. It is the only spirit ever singled out in a prohibition of this kind.

It was never made illegal in the UK, which meant that many of the great classic cocktails to come from Britain during the 1920s and 30s called for absinthe in their recipes.

Modern science finally caught up and disproved the 19th century theories that originally had it banned and regulations were changed around the world to finally make absinthe legal again.

British wheat spirit is copper pot distilled with 14 botanicals, including grand wormwood, green anise, fennel seed, elderflower, meadowsweet, peppermint and lemon balm.

Devil’s Botany London Absinthe adopts the strict regulations that define a London Dry Gin. Our London Absinthe starts with a neutral British wheat spirit of at least 96% ABV. The neutral spirit is then redistilled with only 100% natural botanicals, including the required trinity of grand wormwood, green anise and fennel seed that define absinthe. All botanicals are added during the distillation process. Nothing apart from water is added post distillation. Precise heart cuts and a slow distillation process ensures that only the highest quality liquid goes into each bottle of Devil’s Botany London Absinthe. The resulting liquid is crystal clear and packed with botanical flavour.
