Absinthe is a botanical spirit distilled with grand wormwood, green anise and fennel seed, also known as the holy trinity of absinthe. In addition to these three, each distiller can use their own blend of botanicals to achieve the unique flavour profile they are after.
Traditional absinthe is a spirit, not a liqueur. Sugar is usually added during while diluting a glass of absinthe with a fountain. Our Chocolate Absinthe Liqueur has been diluted for you to a sippable 24% ABV and sweetened with demerara sugar, so it is ready to be enjoyed neat or over ice.

Absinthe was banned for nearly a century in many countries around the world. It is the only spirit ever singled out in a prohibition of this kind. It was never made illegal in the UK, which meant that many of the great classic cocktails to come from Britain during the 1920s and 30s called for absinthe in their recipes. Modern science finally caught up and disproved the 19th century theories that originally had it banned and regulations were changed around the world to finally make absinthe legal again.
Our London Absinthe is distilled with 14 botanicals, including the trinity of grand wormwood, green anise and fennel seed. This distillate is then infused with raw Ecuadorian cacao and sweetened with Demerara sugar.
